    MISSION STATEMENT

Our clients tell us that some of our schools biggest selling points are a
positive family environment, dozens of props for use in class, strict
choreography guidelines for crowd pleasing shows, curriculum that pushes
the students yet allows learning to be fun, classes tailored for each age
level that push students to their greatest potential, beginning through
advanced levels for each age group and a policy of removing negative
personalities, whether it is a teacher, staff member, parent or student. Our
priority should be making dance exciting, fun, and educational at the same
time, taught by teachers who are proficient in technique and patience.

  • Dance builds confidence.
  • Dance builds self-esteem.
  • Dance builds an appreciation for what you can accomplish and a respect for
those who work hard to reach their goals.
  • Dance is great exercise and develops a sense of team and camaraderie
    between fellow dancers.
  • Dance gives kids a safe wholesome productive opportunity to develop a
    possible hidden passion.
Gray's School of Dance, Inc. offers classes in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz and tumbling
for students ages three through adult.  The dance sessions run from September to
May with some classes being offered during the summer.

The owner of the studio is Patty Gray.  Gray danced professionally in shows all over
the United States before she moved back to Ottawa where she started a family and
opened up a local studio.  Patty Gray says, "My mom and dad have always been an
inspiration.  A lot of my philosophies on life and dance is a tribute to them".  Today
the studio has been in operation for more than 25 years.  "I now have students
whose mother I taught.  We are beginning to progress through the second and third
generation of families that take part in the studio.

There have been many changes since the studio was first opened.  "I do so much
more today.  Not only are we dance instructors, but we in teach life skills involving
manners, etiquette, and behavior management," says Gray.  Many parents will
comment that skills learned in Gray's dance classes have helped their children to
focus and stay alert in school.

At Gray's School of Dance, Inc., we encourage dancing as an extra curricular rather
than a studio that promotes only professional dancers.  We encourage boys and
girls to join in order to accelerate in skills such as coordination, posture, agility,
rhythm, eye contact, and knowledge of their own body and flexibility.

Gray's School of Dance, Inc. performs for many outside functions and organizations
in the community along with having a recital every two years.  Patty Gray also puts
on benefit shows to raise proceeds for the La Salle County Easter Seals.

Here at Gray's School of Dance, Inc., our entire staff is devoted to building a studio of
excellence and uncompromising dedication to the ideal quality in dance education.
We look forward to having your child enrolled in our school where you can be
assured he or she will receive a proper dance education taught by qualified
progressive teachers.

Please take time to read our policies to answer any further questions.
